TAYLOR ELECTRIC PROJECT

A Rotating open-air gallery IN THE CENTRAL EASTSIDE MURAL DISTRICT, CURATED BY PSAA

The Taylor Electric Project at the Electric Blocks, is a collaborative, open-air street art gallery that features the work of over 100 artists.

For over a decade (2006-2016), the ruins of the Taylor Electrical Supply Company, located on 240 SE Clay St., became a Portland nexus of local, regional, and national graffiti and street art following a fire that left only the burnt-out husk of walls, a perfect canvas for street art within Portland’s ever-changing Central Eastside Industrial District.

In 2015, what remained of the old burnt out building was demolished. Since 2018, with the support of Killian Pacific, PSAA and artists have collectively rebuilt Taylor Electric into a haven for street art once again.

A PLACE FOR ARTISTS

Since 2018, 100s of artists have painted at Taylor Electric. PSAA curates and maintains this space as a free open-air art gallery and community space for everyone to enjoy.

A PLACE FOR COMMUNITY

The Taylor Electric site has become a hub for cultural activities, hosted by PSAA and other community groups and organizations, such as the Portland Winter Light Festival.
