  • PSAA begins by discussing your project goals, vision for the artwork, and site-specific considerations

  • PSAA helps create a scope of work, design direction, inspiration board, and project timeline

  • PSAA creates a custom artist roster with work examples of the artists we suggest for your project

  • PSAA reaches out to artists that you like the best, gathering quotes

  • Once the artist is chosen, PSAA will develop a contract

  • PSAA helps manage artist communications, from the design feedback & revision process to final execution

  • PSAA assists with site logistics, including renting equipment if needed

  • PSAA helps ensure the project is completed according to specifications, on-time, and within budget

WHY COMMISSION A MURAL?

THE VALUE OF PUBLIC ART

According to a study from the University of Warwick, neighborhoods that have a higher proportion of urban art such as murals experience an increase in the market value. Urban art provides a unique sense of place that attracts happy pedestrians, customers, and employees. Street art contributes greatly to the development of A ‘creative city.’

Hiring artists and non-profit art management organizations like PSAA, helps to support local economies and ensure that working art professionals have opportunities to grow and thrive in their cities and towns. PSAA strives to take a responsible approach to public art making, and whenever feasible, reflect and honor the history and context of the communities we are working in.

SATISFIED CLIENTS

"For Walls Within, we wanted to work with all Portland and PNW area muralists. The obvious choice for us was to reach out to the Portland Street Art Alliance to kick off a curatorial collaboration.

Tiffany and her team did a tremendous job in providing us with an extensive list of highly talented artists to curate from. It was a pleasure to work with PSAA from start to finish. We are extremely thankful for the partnership that we have made and we plan to continue to work with them to help promote more amazing local artists in the Portland community."

– Joseph Gower, Creative Project Manager at Hopscotch

“We are thrilled to have this beautiful addition to the Portland Mercado which will enhance community space and serve as a testament to the colorful, bold, and dynamic individuals that make up our community at the Portland Mercado and the vibrant and eclectic cultures that are a part of our heritage.”

Ernesto Fonseca, CEO of Hacienda CDC

“Thank you PSAA for making the process smooth. The artist was extremely helpful, patient, and professional throughout the entire process. We had been talking about a mural for two years and we are extremely happy with how it turned out.”

– Kathy Kershaw, Marketing Associate at CLARK / KJOS Architects

“Having done business in the Central Eastside of Portland for almost 6 decades, I have never seen such a beautiful, rapid, ongoing transformation of a business district as what I am seeing with Portland Street Art Alliance’s mural projects in our Central Eastside.

Building by building, mural by mural, Tiffany Conklin and Tomas Valladares of the Portland Street Art Alliance, along with these gifted artists are making Central Eastside such a beautiful place to live and work. I would strongly encourage other business and property owners to work with PSAA to be the next building in this transformation of our beloved Central Eastside.”

– Michael Myers, Property Owner and Owner of Coastal Produce
